Bates Farm is a top-rated pumpkin patch in the North West. We’re based in Warrington, easily accessible from Manchester and Liverpool, and welcome you to join us for an unforgettable autumnal day out.

This year, we have grown over 30,000 home grown pumpkins, with over 50 different varieties. Whether you’re looking for big orange pumpkins, yellow, stripey, white or knobbly ones, we have them all. We also have plenty of photo opportunities and farm animals you can meet.

We’re open every weekend from the end of September until the end of October. Booking is essential. Tickets sell fast, so register below to find out when tickets go on sale.

No, tickets are per car. We have a purpose-built events car park to help us manage capacity.

Yes, entry to pumpkin patch is booking only. Last year we had back-to-back sell-out weekends, so we suggest booking in advance so you can join us at your preferred time.

Wellies or walking boots are recommended as the farm can get muddy. We also have an undercover pumpkin barn where you can pick pumpkins from, in case of bad weather.

We will have a farmer’s corner where you will get to meet the pigs, sheep, calves and donkeys! This will be led by the farmers and you will be able to ask them any questions.

The indoor pumpkin barn is full of beautiful pumpkin displays and photo opportunities, where you can also pick pumpkins from. It is undercover, clean, pushchair and wheelchair friendly. Often a perfect alternative to the pumpkin patch if little ones have only just started walking and you want to save mess!

The farm, indoor pumpkin display and refreshments are accessible for prams and wheelchairs. In dry weather conditions you will also be able to access the pumpkin patch.

Well behaved dogs on leads are allowed entry to the farm.

Yes! We are working with local food vendors, serving up delicious coffees, cakes and sweet-treat crepes throughout the day, as well as wood-fired pizzas from 12-4pm.

We suggest staying for 1.5 hours so you can enjoy everything we have to offer.

The pumpkin fields are at their fullest at the start of the picking season in September – blooming in colour and often dryer underfoot. It is also much quieter in September and the first few weekends in October, as well as Half Term. Later on in October, the farm is much busier but your pumpkins are more likely to last until Halloween.

If you want to change the day or time of your booking you can amend your booking up to 24 hours before the booking.

No, pumpkins can be picked and purchased on-site separately. They range from £1 – £15.

Pumpkins are £1 – £15 depending on size and variety. Prices of pumpkins are clearly sign posted at the start of the pumpkin barn and pumpkin patch to help manage your picking.
