Meet the Lambs at Bates Farm

Lambing is in full swing at the farm and we can’t wait to show you the magic of farm life!

Join us to meet and hold the lambs, learn all about lambing season on the farm, as well as sitting on our tractors and getting plenty of photos.

Tickets are booking only, and we expect to sell out. We advise booking early to avoid disappointment. Please read our FAQs before booking.

Do I need to book?

Yes, we have limited tickets available and the sessions are run on a bookings only basis to ensure that the event runs smoothly. We advise booking early to avoid disappointment.

What time should I arrive?

The sessions start promptly on the hour, we advise getting to the farm 10 minutes early so you can park up, get your wellies and waterproofs on and be ready to start the sessions promptly on the hour.

Can I bottle feed the lambs?

No, the lambs are fed by their Mum which is a much more natural and healthier way of feeding.

What should I wear?

We recommend wearing warm clothes and wellies as the farm is exposed to the elements and muddy in areas.

Are dogs allowed?

Unfortunately, dogs are not welcome to the lambing event as we are a working farm and there are lots of animals on site.

Who is the event suitable for?

Everyone is welcome! Families, friends, young, old, couples, or join us solo. We just advise that pregnant women don’t come and dogs aren’t allowed.

Why can’t pregnant women come?

We advise that pregnant women do not come to the farm during lambing season. There is a risk that coming into contact with sheep and lambs during pregnancy may cause health complications. You can read more from the NHS website here

Are there food and drink options?

Yes, we will be serving up specialty coffee, delicious hot chocolates and cinnamon buns from our farm coffee trailer Uproot!

Is there car parking?

Yes, we have a purpose built car park on site.

Are there toilets?

We have toilets on site including a disabled toilet with baby changing facilities.
