Dad, I did it 🥹🩵

This afternoon we finished combining our winter barley. Due to a wet winter and soggy spring, the crop has struggled to grow and yields have been heavily impacted.🌾

However, I’m still taking the opportunity to celebrate my first season of solo combining. I wish Dad was here to see it, but with what he and his friends have taught me I’ve been able to drill it, apply sprays and spread fertiliser. I’ve made a few mistakes and learned many more lessons along the way, so praying for no blocked spouts or stripy fields this year!🙏🏻

Pumpkin season has started! All 15,000 plants are now in the ground, we’re just praying for some sunshine and the plants will soon be thriving 🙏🏻

WE DID IT!! 🎉 I can’t tell you how relieved

WE DID IT!! 🎉

I can’t tell you how relieved we are to finally have our spring crops in the ground 💪🏼

We spent 2 weeks working long hours, not just to get the fields ploughed and sown, but also spread with fertiliser and apply a pre-emergence spray to give the crops the best chance to grow 🌾

We battled the wettest winter many experienced farmers have ever seen, with fields being waterlogged we were unable to travel and just had to be patient. One of the hardest things as farmers is playing the waiting game for conditions to be fit, when jobs are piling up and time is against us. Generally we aim to have crops in the ground in the Autumn and at the latest mid April, so this delayed drilling will likely mean that we will have reduced yields this year.

All of us have been against the weather this time, well done to everyone who has battled against these testing times and remember to support British where you can ❤️

Today we’ve had our last lamb tours of the season! Thank you all for joining us over the past 3 weekends - we have LOVED having you. You’ve all been amazing, asked so many questions and just got really stuck in!

We’ve nearly finished lambing with around 15 ewes left to lamb. The eldest lambs have been put out to grass and we’re hoping for some more sunshine to keep the grass growing 🌱

Big thanks to our dream team who make it all run like clock work. You’re all heroes ❤️

But for now, a little rest and back to farming. We’ll be back for pumpkin picking in October! See you all soon farmers! 🐑🌼🌱🎃🌞
